Gooder, Badder, More British

Would it be cool if Damon Albarn and Paul Simonon got together and riffed on "Ghost Town" and "Guns of Brixton"?

Fuck yes it would.

What if they brought in the guy that Eno says is the best drummer in the world?

Well, hell.

The smartest man in the world....

I just got one of these.

Yes it's the big one.
It's in the mail right now.

24(inches)
No I am not compensating for anything. It will be in my house (my living room to be exact).

I've been doing this at school or on my parents' computer. Pretty soon I should have enough time to broadcast my impeccable taste to, well, to nobody probably.

But I'll post more.

I am not ashamed

My Chemical Romance

to admit that I like the new My Chemical Romance single. Yeah, the whole parade motif is a bit (a bit?) goofy, and the Hot Topic approved wardrobe is totally played out, but the song is good. This Nightmare Before Christmas look has got to end.

Their singer guy seems to be real frontman. He's got that special look in his eye, and plays well to the camera. That's not something you can accuse many emo-punk bandleaders of. I also read that the first thing he did when his band broke was a nosedive into a giant mountain of blow, from which he just recently emerged, I guess that gives him some frontman cred. I also like his haircut.

I just wanted to cop to it. I like the new My Chemical Romance single. And I'd give their album a chance, but I hear it's one of those concept album/rock operas that the kids seem to love these days. Maybe I can get a free copy.

The problem with the world today is that.....

The image “http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/B000JMKCU2.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_V36690601_.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

.....this album's only available as an import.
And that means it'll be way more expensive.

Lady Sov

Lady SOV
I don't know either.

Most disappointing album in awhile, well since the new Killers, which I guess isn't really a while. Anyhoo, this is the wonderkid signed by Jay-Z after one freestyle? Well it turns out that she's only got one good line in her. Yeah, she's short and English, that does not a whole album make. Every effing song is one strung out MC battle rap about how she's not pop, she's short and she's got rhymes.

People want to make it sound like Lady Sov is the female the Streets, but she's totally not. Mike Skinner's Britishness didn't make his albums great, his storytelling did. He's got characters and plots and drugs and sex and clubs and actual emotion. And he happens to talk funny. Lady Sov is just short and doesn't even talk that funny. She's not grime, Dizzee Rascal is grime, he talks reeeaaalllly funny.

This is Sporty Spice backed by Jay-Z and Missy Elliott and it's boring.
